After failing to defend their Division and Conference titles, the Bruins finished the year at 39-30-13, good for 3rd place in the NE Division. The team opened and closed the season with victories against the Washington Capitals. The team posted a better road record (21-13-7) than home record (18-17-6).
On April 13, 2010, the franchise received the rights for the 2nd overall pick in the 2010 draft and selected Jordon Caron who played with the Royun-Noranda Huskies scoring 33 points for the season.
